My first blog site was called FixerFixer.com. Our original web site was for www.aspingcleaning.com which is the name of our company that specializes in preparing properties for rent, or sale.
Fixer Fixer was a Blogger platform when Blogger was new, and I was paying $35 a year to Melbourn IT to register my domain names.
The site was mercilessly attacked by contractors around the country. It got a ton of spam. The experience scared me. Discussion evolved out of my idea that the home owner could do projects around the house.
The site was shut down in about 2002, then rivived in 2006 when I changed domain name registration. Again the site was attacked, especially by some HVAC contractor in Boston. Other contractors felt you needed to have the experienced hand of a trained contractor, or project manager to change a light bulb.
The site hit it’s stride in 2006 when we converted to WordPress, and changed to domain name to Seattle Real Estate Fixer. It corresponded with a project we did.
This was a flat roof stucco house in Maple Leaf. 
It was my second complete project home. We purchased it in 1986 after a trip to Greece. Over the years little projects created more problems until one day we just started tearing the place apart.
The purpose of this site is to encourage you to take on projects. We hope this site will answer some Real Estate questions for you as well.
Over the years we have had the opportunity to do extraordinary things; we have worked on thousands of properties. Ours is a unique situation that has allowed us to do much more than most contractors.
We have been referred by some of the top Real Estate agents in Seattle to “fix” quirks in properties. We have repaird many properties that had deferred maintenance. In some cases we have fixed what others have fixed. By shear volume we have become comfortable with all aspects of a property.
